The dream of reality

Lying awake.
Listening to the beat of my heart,
So fast, it may burst at any second.
You are on my mind,
And in my heart.
Wondering...
Wishing...
Hoping...
Maybe you could be thinking of me,
and feel your heart beating as fast as mine so frequently does.
Maybe we will once again meet in our dreams, and go dancing on the beach,
Watching the stars glisten right over our heads just out of reach.
Prehaps we will walk on the clouds
Stopping at every rainbow,
Just to count the colors.
Sometimes we swim in the ocean
And ride on the backs of dolphins,
Letting the waves take us where ever they desire.
But tonight is different.
I am not dreaming.
Not even sleeping.
Because as I think of you,
Knowing that you love me as much as I love you,
I realize,
Reality is far better than any dream.
