The Kingdom of Heaven

by Ian Robert   Nov 5, 2004

In sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ,
We commend to Almighty God our brother,
And we commit his body to the ground; earth to earth; ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
The Lord bless him and keep him,
The Lord make his face to shine upon him and be gracious unto him and give him peace. Amen.

Riddance to the church,
Shame of his sins,
Brother, son, friends forever,
Breath in, because you can no logger,
See my face, with the eyes that have turned white,
Religious, pushed the the point were my head hurts.

Jesus said that the way I forgive others is the way that he will forgive me,
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner,
In the eyes of the people,
I am nothing but vermin, scum, a human without purpose,
Many are called but few are chosen.

What kind of bazaar creatures lurk,
Ready to take the breath from my chest,
I asked the minister how to prepare for the coming of creation,
I was told to sit back and let the end take me whole, so we may start anew,
Instead of wondering if hypothetical creatures have splinters in their eyes,
We should be busy taking the beams out of our own eyes.

I did take some lines from the bible and a few other religious books (since the passage of death isnt in the bible)

Nice write, hehe, reading this poem reminded me of the Bible which I haven't seem for a long while.. did you quote from the Bible by any chance??... but yes, this is well writen, but however, I feel the flow is a little awkward, maybe limiting the number of words in a line/sentense would help :) Anyway, good message tho ;) keep up the good work, take care :)
