Intentions

by Samantha (Sam)   Nov 6, 2004

When he gets angry
his eyes turn red
& You can see the veins
bulging out of his head.
He spins the tires
& Speeds around the curve.
It’s like he's gonna snap
It’s like something hit a nerve.
I hold on to the door
& Pull my seatbelt tight
I don’t know if we can take this
for even one more time

So if tonight
I don’t make it
Now my soul
I pray you take it
I know
I’ve made mistakes
I haven’t done things that I should
But please know my intentions
were always good

I wish I could take back
the lies that I told
I wish to them
I hadn’t been so cold
I liked so many people
But no one could ever tell
I guess it came out wrong
But I swear I meant so well
