How sorry I am.
Then maybe we'd be friends,
Maybe you'd understand.

If only you'd known the truth
And believe what I said.
Then maybe we could smile,
and not be sad.

If only you could see
all of the sadness in my eyes.
Then maybe you would talk to me,
And not let this chance pass us by.

If only I know the right words to say.
And not break into tears.
