Remember

This poem is dedicated to the only person I've ever loved. I miss you and I'll love you forever. You know who you are.

There's someone in this world
That taught me something about love,
It's not roses, chocolates or dances,
It's not flying high above

Love is an emotion,
Not a state of being.
And you should always be true and HONEST,
to the person you are seeing.

I've done things I am not proud of,
So many I can't count
It's no wonder that he left me,
He put up with a huge amount

He was the best in this world
And I pushed him away
I put him through pain and jealousy,
How could I ask him to stay?

I thought I could never love again,
You made me see us through,
Turns out I never KNEW true love,
Not till I found you.

Words can't explain my sorrow,
my broken heart and regret
'I'm sorry' sounds pitiful and shallow,
Your love, I can never forget.

But don't give up on loving,
Don't lose faith in your heart.
Falling in love can happen,
Just remember us from the start.
