Sometimes

Sometimes you can't help it and sometimes get scared
Too bad that when it happens
No one seems to be there

Sometimes you need a friend to tell you, it'll be ok
That you can make it through the long night
That there’s a tomorrow after today

Sometimes you need to cry and not be alone
Sometimes you need a quiet place
The place some call home

Sometimes you need a hug and someone to say they care
Someone that can look into your eyes
And see something that was never there

Sometimes you need to talk and let it all out
You need someone to encourage you
And wipe away all self doubt

Sometimes you need an I love you to make you feel ok
Sometimes you need that persons smile
To help you through the long day

Sometimes your lonely because no one is around
Sometimes you need that helping hand
That never seems to be found

Sometimes you need a shoulder to rest and lean on
Sometimes you believe in your friends
But where were they all along
