Fallen

by Jesslynn   Nov 9, 2004

Fallen down on broken glass
Crying in pain but people pass

No one stops to see if you're okay
People glance but then look away

The pain is strong and the glass cut deep
To much to bare so you fade into sleep

When you wake up you're alone in a hospital bed
Don't remember what happened only what people said

They said you were crazy and you put the glass to your skin
They said you got depressed when you were hurt by men

But you say you fell and they wouldn't help you
But they knew the truth and there's nothing you could do

You did begin to fall but no one could really see
They thought you were okay but you were no longer free

You wanted them to hear you, wanted them to understand
They wanted you to be happy, so you started to pretend

You tried to be happy but you felt empty inside
The day he hurt you a large part of you died

You no longer had hope, just sadness and despair
If only he could see how your heart began to tear

Fallen down with no strength to try once more
So you put the glass to your skin and let the blood pour

No reason to live, only hope to die
All of your happiness was just a big lie

You slit your wrist as a way of making people see
You tried your best and that was all you could be

So here I am at your funeral knowing there was nothing I could do
I couldn't save you from all the pain, I couldn't save you from YOU
