Coffee for One

Coffee for One~

A cup of coffee in hand,
she sits all alone.
Looking out the kitchen window,
no one to call her own.

He left her for another,
not too long ago.
She remembers how life use to be,
as it starts to snow.

Thermometer is reading 0,
freezing cold it is.
Much how her heart is feeling right now,
all the fault is his.

The steam rises up in vapory puffs,
as it disperses in the air.
Much how her love is gone forever,
no more laughs or smiles to share.

Her loved one ran,
no more does love exist.
He's off gallivanting in some woman's house,
leaving her to reminisce.

She stares out the window,
knowing that the heartache has only just begun.
No more setting the table for two
as she holds her cup of coffee for one.

This is dedicated to my aunt. She's actually my mom's friend, so she's not my biological aunt, but I refer to her as an aunt, seeing as she's very important to me. Her husband left her not too long ago. Tough as it is for her, she's making it.
