Somewhere in the World

by sarina   Nov 13, 2004

Somewhere in the world
a little girl is crying.
Her dad beats her;
her mom tells her it's her fault.
She feels helpless, unloved,
and all distraught.

Somewhere in the world
a boy has run away.
Looking for a home,
or at least a place to stay.
He feels alone and used
while looking tired and abused.

Somewhere in the world
a child labeled a "dork" is
contemplating suicide. They
feel they have no purpose in life,
so they put their wrists up against
a knife.

Somewhere in the world.
All over the place.
People are fighting their problems
face to face.
Maybe not in front of you.
Maybe not right there,
but somewhere...
Somewhere they're all alone
wishing someone would care.
