Secret lunch, Secret Love

by brin macnamara   Nov 14, 2004

For a brief moment the universe opened
A monochrome world burst into colour.
You dined with me,broke bread with me and in that time you were but six inches away.
Six inches, less than a hands caress near enough for an embrace, for me to stroke your hair, feel your breath upon my cheek...
Though in truth there was a valley 'tween us. A valley with a secret..
Across that table your smile thawed the ice in my glass of Sprite,Your beauty eclipsed the blooms in the vase.
On that chilly November day summer returned and all the stars in the Milky Way unfolded in an overcast sky.
I wanted to kiss your hands, smell and caress your perfumed wrists, tell you that I cared.
To embrace you, cover you with ample kisses and more again, place your hand upon my heart for you to feel it racing with desire!
Yet: therein lives a secret...My Lovely One knows not the raptures of my heart, knows not that it pulsates with the vibrancy of a thousand timpani, arms that ache to hold her, nor lips that cry out to kiss hers.
But! I did confess to you of my love!
You supposed as only as a friend, my heart mutely whispering-Nay!But as a Lover!
In code I voiced my adoration, passion and desire.
Neither you nor any code-master will decipher my code, for me thinks I hide my love too well!
For-now a solitary tear flows down my cheek, a tear of sadness, known only by one other.
Only that other and my heart know mytruth....

Sarah... I Love Thee.
