Lost

by Samantha lynn   Nov 22, 2004

Tears fell down
ivory cheeks,
from hallowed eyes
that fateful morning.

You think love could've lasted,
through the tribulation
and rocky shores,
waiting,
searching
for something more.

I loved you once-
you fooled my twice
shame on you\for breaking such a fragile heart.

You smiled at the self-made thought
you found the Utopian dream,
in crowds of popular comments
and smiling faces.

You threw love away
in a heartbeat
that wasn't even yours to have.
You walked by
without a glace,
and made me realize
I'm lost.

In a world where
the simplest emotion
makes you run and hide
behind a false mask
you never wore at first.

I once thought love was kind-
but it's just lonely and cruel
I once thought you'd stay beside me forever-
but you didn't; and I'm lost without you.
