Poison

by Rene Shaddinger   Nov 28, 2004

So the story goes
And nobody really knows
The effects of the poison you now contain

You’ve become emotionally attached
And nothing can detach
The egg that hatched inside your brain

Through sickness and in health two voices swore
But now half that oath is missing
And the pain hurts that much more

The poison keeps going
And your blood stream keeps flowing
Straight in to your core

You can unleash the poison if you can open, slam, and lock the door
But, you cant, your stuck right here in the middle of the ocean trying to reach the shore

You can feel it pumping to your fingertips
Warning you not to make any more mistakes
Before death shines blue through your lips
And your glass heart suddenly breaks

The pressure hits you hard in the chest
You can’t eat, sleep, think, or even rest

This is the test give it all you got
Nothing less than your best
Don’t you want to say you fought?
Your back is turned now he’s impressed
But right when you’re headed the right way
You fall to your knees and say with a grin
This is a never-ending day
One big cycle that I cant win
