One Town To The Next

by Jacki   Dec 1, 2004

I’m shuttered inside with the rain pouring by,
White and yellow reflections dance in my eyes.
Sitting upright, while drums bang in my ears.
My mind wondering off into a blank stare,
Trapped inside while the storms shakes violently,
One town to the next the moonlight shines.
Upon the red paint eagerly to go home;
Red, yellow, green a ton so it seems.
No where important, just looking for my home.
A home that no longer exist to me anymore.
One last song is played into my ears,
“Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio” then
I drive up to the street where home use to be.
The lights are all on, people laughing gloriously.
My head titles down and the song continues
Playing, a tear drop falls and I drive on.
The rain still pouring.
