A Winter So Bleak

by deadnalone   Dec 1, 2004

For Tom

Our friendship has blossomed,
Into something new,
You still are my mate,
But you love me too,

It feels so warm and perfect,
You’re hand in mine,
I wish like this,
It could be all the time,

When I see you’re face,
My heart goes warm,
I think of those times,
When you used that charm,

When you made me smile,
And I felt unique,
When I saw you glance over,
To get a quick peek,

But I don’t mind,
And I’m not ashamed,
I don’t even care,
If our love is named,

I know you do though,
But that doesn't matter,
If we know and we use it,
We can liven our chatter,

I’d forever live,
Wrapped up in your arms,
With your lips on mine,
Free from all harms,

I’d feel so safe,
If just there for a moment,
A split second of bliss,
Would finish my torment,

I just want you here,
And to be with me,
So together forever,
Or at least now we could be,

My lips on your mouth,
And your hand on my thigh,
If we were like this,
No longer would I cry,

But the way we are,
No tears on my cheek,
I feel so happy and loved,
In a winter so bleak.
