The Undying Rose

by deadnalone   Dec 1, 2004

Have you ever stopped?
And just looked at a rose,
Have you seen the beauty?
As its petals unfold,

An undying symbol,
Of love and devotion,
Of the hugs and kisses,
And the best emotion,

Reflected in the pink,
The white or the red,
You see hearts and flowers,
These things in their heads,

They come together,
You see them smile,
They are truly happy,
At least for a while,

A hand in a hand,
A hip by a hip,
Their arms round each other,
Connected by lips,

The longing and passionate,
The shy and unsure,
The ones who don’t know yet,
They hold a love so pure,

But when you see it,
And it comes to you,
Don’t let it fade,
Let it come shining through,

The laughter and smiles,
Among bestest friends,
The hugs and kisses,
That will never end,

This is all love,
As you and I know,
The red, white and pink,
The undying rose.
