I wanted to be

I never wanted you to leave,
but you knew thats the way it had to be.
I wanted you,
but you didn't want me.
I wanted for us to be,
but I knew you didn't love me.
you used to love me,
you used to care,
but now all I'm feeling is pain & despair,
because you were never there.
