A Mirror Image of My Soul

by SavannahHoward   Dec 2, 2004

I gaze into the reflection of my soul
It is broken
This hollow meaning, to most, is counterfeit
The demigod of my emotion cries
Blood flows from her eyes
The rubies a price
of the heartache endured
She curls in my lap
and I watch
Unable to be of use
For the pain has already taken over
I am paralized
From the heart that was ripped from it's seams
The stitching was snapped
Between the fingers on the trigger
The ghost of my inspiration
Leaves me contorted
and I shatter in front of you
A sympathetic kiss
Follows with the apathy
Holding me dear in her arms
I look up
Red crystals still grazing my cheeks
I am just a child of an empty box
Is this what you hoped for
Watching me lay here
dead to you
Dead to love
