Haikus 1

by figurehead   Dec 3, 2004

The crowds commune
and carelessly consume
a lamb lays down and bleeds

a nurse wraps
a deformed baby
the mother silently despairs

as the hunter approaches
the mother eats her young
forest dark and weary

four hours of daylight
hungry wolf thin as twigs
chews a limb and dies
