Invisible...

by brin macnamara   Dec 4, 2004

Neither you nor anyone sees me.
Standing, leaning or sitting there,
its as if I'm transparent,
Invisible,
Of another dimension.
Just not seen.
Not heard,
Not Loved.

Its as if invisible men cling to me
Pulling strings that prompt me
to get out of bed daily.
Bathe and dress,
but in the looking glass there is no reflection.

My heart throbs with images of Lovers holding hands,
embracing and wearing each others rings.
Your Love will never be mine.
Its his now and forever.
He can embrace you anytime he desires,
because both he and you are visible.
And You Love him.

But... I will wait in the painful shadows... just in case
You do see me,
and hear me say "I Love You".

"Voici mon secret.Ll est tres simple: on ne bien qu'avec le coeur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux." (It is only with the heart that one can see rightly: What is essential is invisible to the eye)-Saint- Exupery.

(I'm not sure if this poem should have gone into the 'sad' section-I chose' Love' in the end. What d'ya think?)

i would have placed it on the Love category as well. *sigh* love is... inexplainable. but somehow you just find the right words to define it. i feel saddened by this great poem. take care
