Torn

by Elizabeth Ann   Dec 5, 2004

Before me and without my keep massed the courtiers, bearing great gifts mostly of themselves to credit.

I inscribed my golden cast upon their fancy backs, left to take in the world for its beauty selflessly, without none to share inside its guises. Mere for a wise, young man teased as older than my years should allow...*smiles slightly*.

So for the moment, I watched their breadth invade my expansive arch-entrance, bearing a noble’s composure for which I’ve witnesses after so long, and I’m told my trademark. Until it’s closed and it's my time to begin...

*Stepping up to the raised dais, looking my attention to a gathered center, I began my invitation*

“You have all come for a decisive reign this event, our larges holiday as brothers and sisters. So how might I, other than transgress, silence doubt for strange, new ideas for our next of kin to succeed us? Leaving then their children victorious for this kingdom we’ve conquered as our own“?

*He sweeps the audience, while they keep their silence listening to their sovereign. And he begins again, standing for that pause he eluded to consider*.

“But before these flow from our restless, helping genius, let us feast!

*And came the perimeter to life with the decorative-silver platters bearing for every fruitful taste. And predictably, trained as artful as his palace raised, the cheer resounded an embellishing echo throughout the colossal hall*.

He whispered a prayer...

“See the west-wind move as her body rises...I can never make promises for her again to keep

In this jealous sky, my heart weeps as loud with grief.

Rest Na’Anna my queen, dreams of your love holden keeps my peace“.

*His lips sweet the locket of his misery...and he proceeds to court*.
