Blushed Twilight

by Emily Andrews   Dec 8, 2004

I am at a standstill
the clock's tick has silenced
but I'm whirling around
the ribbons of colors
emotions
blurring as i twirl
into a blushed twilight
my feet leave the ground
and my body is weightless
i outstretch my arms
and embrace you

my world stops spinning
but silence remains
your warmth floods me
and my heart erupts
into tiny dancing stars
your breath mixes with mine
we are one
synchronized heartbeats
now the colors form one picture
arranging themselves into your face

the brightness of your eyes
peek into my soul
and unlock my chest of emotions
thats buried deeply in my skin
the gentleness of your touch unleashes my shackled appendages
of truth which I've tied down and hidden
your smile reflects in me
and makes me a whole new idea
i shed the thick skin
shiny and knew my wings are
