We have something in Common

by Driven Soul   Dec 11, 2004

To all those people who are heartbroken and sad
Me too, I had a great love like the one you just had
We talked, laughed, and shared our secrets and our lies
It was all so perfect, it “was nothing but blue skies”
Then we had to break up and I was so completely devastated
I couldn’t believe it ended because I was so dedicated

For days, I didn’t eat, sleep, talk, or smile
I thought my world had ended in such a cruel style
I waited endlessly for my phone to ring
And each time it wasn’t him, my heart would feel a sting
I lazily dragged my body through my daily routine
And I crazily thought of him like an emotional teen

And then..

The days went by
My tears went dry
My skies cleared up
And my hopes let up

He is now a sweet memory
Faded in history
I think of him occasionally
But now I think rationally
I wish him the all the good in the world
Hope he finds happiness in a new, lucky girl

I smile widely
Talk loudly
Sleep soundly
Eat proudly

We have something in common, both YOU and Me
We both lost a love, and If it’s meant to be, it will be.
