Give me Faith for Christmas

by Unseen Exposure   Dec 16, 2004

Music in the background
Lights are faded and low
The night outside is frosted
With beauteous, beloved snow

Warmed up by the fire
Hot cocoa and blankets near by
As I watch from my window
The flakes fall from the sky

Joyful and Triumphant
The carols sing their tune
As a breaking, simple silence
Shows the figure of the moon

A glorious captivation
An intriguing glimpse of night
Twinkling stars shine through
It's a precious momentous sight

As the steam from cocoa
Warms your lips and tongue
The content feeling of homeliness
Through joyous words, are sung

But somehow seems so different
Something just isn't here
The trees are up- lights are out
But it's not the same this year

There's no love in my heart
No warmth to brighten the season
No gentle embraces to hold me
And I do not know the reason

Happiness has fled my soul
And light has shut it's door
Enchantment of wondrous feelings-
I don't feel them anymore

So come all ye faithful
Angels, take me in your arms
Calm this chaos inside me
Shelter me from all harms

I am at the mercy of your blessings
At your feet to ask for strength
To make it through this holiday
With trusted, needed Faith.

there is so much heart warming imagery in this piece,
    "Joyful and Triumphant
    The carols sing their tune
    As a breaking, simple silence
Shows the figure of the moon"
    - i love that stance. I could see the picture and feeling of christmas and the warmth all around me.
I also liked that once you got the reader into a relaxed and pleasent state of mind you took a turn w.the sadness and emotions you seemed to have forgotten at christmas time. i absolutly love the last stance,
"I am at the mercy of your blessings
At your feet to ask for strength
To make it through this holiday
    With trusted, needed Faith."
It could have no more perfect or beautiful, wonderful ending.

  • Very nice, I hope you get what you are looking for. Merry Christmas.
