Me

by Erica Brown©   Dec 16, 2004

I'm myself,
Not that girl over there.
I cannot be perfect,
I don't know what will make you care.

That I live my life,
As normal as it's going to be.
But I'm hurting inside,
That no one can see.

Fake smiles,
Real tears.
Tired eyes,
So many wasted years.

I'm drowning deeper in the pool of depression,
Seems like I'm happy every once in a full moon.
Things start so great,
But then they become terrible too soon.

Again I will go on,
Like everything is alright.
When I know it's not,
And for once I know I'm right.

    also my fave bit was
    Fake smiles,
    Real tears.
    Tired eyes,
    So many wasted years.

could also relate to this poem...so many of us have to hide are true feelings and pain!
