If God existed

by Angel of Broken Dreams   Dec 18, 2004

If God existed,
He would be cruel,
Because God is the ultimate illusion,
A thing sewn together from everything humans can't explain.
He was made to comfort us,
Because we can't bare the thought of being alone in the universe,
That nothing exists after death,
That nothing protects us,
We are completely and utterly alone.
As I write this,
I feel a faint tremor of dread shake my body,
I cannot believe I have written this assault on God,
Even though I don't believe in him,
Fear of God has been drummed into my head by every R.E. teacher,
Every chior mistress,
Every vaguely religious school friend.
But no more,

it was a good poem, tho i believe in God and i'm sure that there's an afterlife and if you don't accept god as your saviour you will go to hell and if you do you will go to heaven. But the poem was good!

u know..i sometimes question god...and when i do....i do feel fear...cuz if there really is a god, im afraid im gonna go to hell cuz i questioned him, but if there isn't then is there really an afterlife? if there's no afterlife, what happens when u die? ah! its so confusing! but i know where ur comming from with this one...

You reeled me in....although I do believe in God and feel very strongly about my opinions of him...I respect yours and am a big enough person to tell you that that was a good poem....Be safe around the holidays...
