Beaten & Broken

by Ian Robert   Dec 19, 2004

I feel so charming in the end,
Everyone told me to begin,
So heres the story of a martyr,
It\'s the beginning of the end.

So hatred, so hatred take me whole,
Like you did with your soul,
Devour it, as if it was something to control.

I took the breath from within his chest,
Beated and broken,
I thrashed about until the hate was gone.

The words are so heavy,
So here it is, the beginning of the end,
A victory to a past that was lost,
So long ago, I knew,
I didnt know if I should..

I liked it, powerful words and imagery used and the violence was well put to create a dark effect, god job,

(p.s. person above, poems dont always have to "make sense" not all poems tell stories, though this one seems to, some poems are completly miscellaneous and have no story or event behind them. sometimes its just about getting emotions out onto paper.)

The words were powerful, the links were strong, but i didnt understand it... There was no method to it, and it just didnt make sense. What was it about? A murder or a suicide? A posession maybe? Good work though
