The Twinless

by Incognito   Dec 19, 2004

She chokes with every breath drawn in,
The acrid acid smell of death
Another child lost her twin
She sits and ponders life.

More gases in the smoked sky,
Another day of burning rubber
Another day a child dies
And the twinless twin still ponders.

A dolphin in the fusty waters
Is throttled by a plastic bag
Its body washes onto the beach
Where the twinless twin sits and sighs

An expecting mothers knows something’s wrong
She has just lost her babe.
She is wheeled into the hospital
As they wheel out to the morgue the lost twin.
