Dear Little Girl

Dear Little Girl,
Right now mommy is really hurt,
I don’t think it can get any worst,
I love you so much,
That I have to give you away,
I don’t want pain to scar your beautiful, sweet innocent face,
You were just born and I already love you so much,
I carried you around for nine whole months,
It’s so hard to give up something I want,
But I know you need a home better then the one I can raise you in.
You’ll be given a new mom,
Given a new dad,
Just remember forever,
I will always be your first mom that loved you so much.
I don’t want you to hate me,
Hopefully when you’re older you’ll understand me,
Hopefully you will know I did this with you best in my mind.
Please forgive me for any confusion,
For any sense that I never wanted you,
Don’t think that I just left you.
I cried so much,
I wanted to keep you as mine,
But the fact that you might have been hurt haunted my mind,
The fact that you could live a much safer life,
The fact that I was unable to raise you as mine,
I knew I had to give you to someone who could keep you safe,
So you could lead a great happy life.
Your new mom will give a name,
She’ll see you take your first step,
Hear you speak your first word,
Watch you tie your shoe for the first time,
Help you ride a two- wheeled bike.
She’ll do everything I won’t be able to see, or do,
Once you’re old enough to understand,
She’ll give you this note that explains everything.
I’ll love you forever,
I’ll be here forever, as long God as will let me,
If you ever want to see me, it’s fine with me,
If you chose not to I’ll understand.
