Sandy Shore (Ballad)

by Jacklyn   Aug 23, 2006

Walking along the sandy shore
waves crashing among my feet
Setting sun in the distance
wishing this day i could keep

This sandy path i now follow
shifts, changing with the wind
While dancing freely on my own
a happiness of a different sin

Longing never to return again
now following the sandy shore
Discovering a new path of life
leaving a life i know no more

BALLAD - Is a narrative poem with stanzas of two or four lines, and usually has a refrain {repeat}. Written very straight forward, but seldom with detail. Ballads contain graphic simplicity and force. The last words of the second and fourth lines rhyme.
