RANSOMED^~^

by Mustardhart   Dec 23, 2004

Carrying the cross of damnation
With a heavy heart and the burden
Staggering towards Calvary to face death
There the abode of death
But beyond it, a longing for home

There I met mercy and grace
Welcomed by love and peace
Where I ought to die,
I found life, my hope born again
Justice demands I face death
Mercy paid the cost for my life.

Coming back home, after wasted years
Can be long and tiresome
The light I had, had gone out
Deep within there’s regrets
But beyond it a longing for home

As I walk back home
With a face downcast
And a broken heart
Soon things wont be the same
The same, anymore.
