Stronger

by *suicidal dreams*   Dec 29, 2004

Why does she do this to herself?
Ripping her veins apart,
She’s reminded of her past and present,
How she carries a broken heart.

She sliced along her golden skin,
Created a cut so pure and deep,
Whispering words of her life so far,
So painful as she weeps.

She’s reminded of what she used to be,
As she holds on to that glimmer of hope,
That day when she will recover,
And how she is forced to cope.

But right now she looks at her reflection,
And turns away at the sight,
She hates who she is, what has become,
How she cries so silently at night.

Her arm so red and sore from the cut,
Irritating against her skin,
She wishes as days go by of death,
But she refuses to give in.

Nothing can stop her from crying,
And no-one helps her pain,
She screams out to those who hurt her,
As the blood rushes through her vein.

She’s scared of what the future brings,
But is prepared to move on,
Because she knows deep down that one day,
Her time will come, she will be gone.

Look deeper into her tear-stained eyes,
And maybe you will see,
That person who was scared of life,
Wasn’t just some girl, it was me.
