A Bleeding Heart

A Bleeding Heart

I’ve read the tales,
And I’ve heard the stories.
About all these relationships,
Even the ones that failed.

It’s not fair,
I’ve seen it all,
All I want,
Is a taste of it all.

I’ll take the good,
And I’ll take the bad.
I just want my chance,
To fly or fall.

I’ll never have the chance,
So why try at all.
When I could so easily,
End it all?

But that’s not good enough,
I want the chance.

I don’t want the impossible,
I don’t want some hero.

I’ll take the chance,
For all the pain.
For just one chance,
Of love.

I don’t care if we last,
Whether it be guy or lass.
I just want the chance,
Is that so much to ask?
