A single flower

by sara b   Dec 30, 2004

Thinking of the night
i was in the shower
you sneaked out
to buy a single flower

i was wrapped in my robe
waiting for your return
but instead i was left
with my heart scarred and burned

sunrise has come
and there is still no you
torturing myself
wondering what did i do

phone rings to tell me
you've been found
i hang up
without a sound

you were struck down
and left for dead
they found the single flower
with a note that said:

My dear sweet girl
you will never know
how you have made
my lonesome heart grow
I bought this single flower
as a symbol of our love
what once was nothing
has grown to become
something so beautiful
and beyond comparison
like this single flower
our love has bloomed
all thats left to say
is I love you

taking the single flower
placing it where you were left to lay
wondering how something that beautifully blooms
can be so full of doom.
