The Journey

by elise   Dec 31, 2004

They walked along the path,
their dreams were at the end,
their love was found within,
and their hopes were there again.

They ran along when they could see,
how their walking got them nowhere,
they tried to get to the end as fast as they could,
but there was no one to help them get there.

They kept on going through the storm,
through the wind, rain, and sleet,
even when they were almost stopped,
they were motivated by the beat of their feet.

They never complained once,
even though some events got them down.
They always seemed to smile,
even when they saw that pain was all around.

Then they came to a small stream,
it was simply called The Brook,
they didnt know what it was at all,
so they took a second look.

When they realized that it brought them,
straight to their dreams with no return,
they smiled gratefully at their determination,
their true and own deter.

They saw now that they were someones,
when they reached their dreams at last,
they told everybody the met along the way thank you,
for they helped their dreams to cast.

The lesson is that if you try,
and you never give in to pain,
you can make it through anything in life,
even the worst of the rain.

At the end of every storm,
a rainbow will appear,
to show you that you made it with dignity,
and to show that you no more must tear.
