In The Meadow

by Chuck Aquino   Jan 1, 2005

There I was on a chilly but fiery meadow
With the sun and a girl singing a mellow
A very strange but wonderful girl she was
And teaching dancing and singing is what she does
She was a very beautiful klutz
And always tripping and falling like nuts
Always dropping, but still so cheery
And me? A change of heart with my eyes so teary
I was filled with alluring happiness
That I shed tears of gold because of my heart's coziness
And then I knew that she was immortal
And her eyes were like shattered glass of crystals
Her hair was dazzling of shallow yellow
And her lips where like cherry morello
Her skin was smooth like the finest cloth of silk
With a mix of the light, her skin was white as milk
The color of her left eye was red
And the right eye was blue as the ocean bed
I couldn't wait any longer so I walked to her
Nervously, each of my footsteps echoed a cur
Walking slow and picturing that girl in my mind
And suddenly I woke up and found out that I was blind
The last thing I remember was her smile
that reflected back to my eyes
Which made me happy enough to cry
Because I saw my future wife
That I see a beautiful girl in my life
And now I wish to not doubt my dream
Because I know now what my life means
