The whispered GoodBye

by Libby M   Jan 2, 2005

And so He spoke-
And His words were
Too Large for me-
Like a Whisper-Silently
He Spoke the words He
Chose for me

Looked once, than twice
Tongue held its pride
And refused to ask For the
Words to again repeat themselves
Heart stopped for a moment
I stopped for two.

Smiles filled the air
I refused to shed a tear
But his soft eyes looked
Sharply into Mine-I
Asking him to look away
But tears emerged as I whispered
“time to leave.”

Heart broken-it isn’t first time
But It will learn how to move on
The night-soon will be over
Morning soon will arrive
The birds will hum at my Window
And Hope will still be there
For Love-and it’s amazing grace

Goodbye-They say it isn’t always
Forever-Perhaps they are right
But Goodbye was something that
Needed to be done-Tonight.
Remembering-I will always.
Think of You-I will always.
Loving You-Part of me always
Would wonder How loving you
Felt.

Hear the Whispers of the night-
Hear how my heart longed so
Much for you-hear it-record it
Repeat it over and over-
Maybe than-you will see
Just how truly I’ve loved you
All this time-
Hear the whispers tonight-
‘Goodbye.’

Libby, I also wonder why love can be so good and all of a sudden it goes bad. That has happened to me after being married to a man for for 26 yrs. I'm at a point, I don't which way to go, or where to turn. A very beautiful poem with a lot of meaning. Take Care you're very talented. Enjoyed, I now have you in my fav. lol
