Silent Whispers

by Natalie McPhee   Jan 2, 2005

The white room stood still,
Tranquil,
Quiet,
The girl bemused and forlorn,
She stares,
Into the space filled with whispers,
Silent whispers.

The whispers escalate,
A frightened look in her eyes,
She’s trapped,
Inside a web of lies,
Deceit,
Blame,
Still she stares,
Into the room overflowing with,
Silent whispers.

She tries to express her anguish,
Opening her mouth,
Her words are suppressed,
By the smothering of whispers,
Whispers she can’t explain,
Silent whispers.

Out of agony,
She dies,
Curling herself into a helpless state,
With her tear stained cheeks,
Her grave speaks,
Cause of death,
Whispers and words,
she couldn't explain,
Silent whispers
