Damn pile

by Sinister Soire   Jan 4, 2005

I’m suffocating under all these burdens
Placed on my by your deft hand
The pile is piling up to the heavens
Reaching from my shattered land

I throw this pile from my back

You pile task upon task onto my frail spine
Never ceasing till I’m dead and broken
No matter how ever much I whine
My cries of pain remain unspoken

I throw this pile from my back

These burdens come with force unrelenting
As you dump them onto me
Removing all methods of venting
I’m self-destructing can’t you see

I throw this pile from my back

I slowly diminish this growing pile
Working things off one by one
I’m going to make it every mile
Never stopping till it’s done

I throw this pile from my back

I hope these tasks will cease to come
It’s making life such a drag
You burn me down and make me scum
And then you go and like to brag

I throw this pile from my back

Once this pile of tasks is gone
Your ammunition on me will vanish
Soon now I can show my brawn
And you from my life I will banish

That pile is history
