Can’t Go Back

by Swallowed by Death   Jan 6, 2005

Alone in the darkness, a candle to light my way,
But a swift wind blew; the candle couldn’t stay,
I tripped and fell; I had lost you,
You left me here and I grew,
My mind grew and I knew you weren’t lost; you were gone,
You’d been gone long, three years long,
And you weren’t just gone; you were dead,
Finally, it sank into my head,
You are gone, and no one can take your place,
A million memories I can’t erase,
I’ll hold it all in, until I crack,
But nothing will ever bring you back.
