The loss of a loved one.

by Heather   Jan 8, 2005

As the days go by
Long and alone
I sit and I wonder
Where they might have gone

Is there a heaven
or maybe a hell
oh someone please,
please do tell.

They were so much more
than just grandparents to me
I am angry, so angry,
I sometimes can't see

Are they happy now?
Now they are set free,
but how could a God,
take them from me?

I've got so many questions
with no answers in sight
Will I ever find out
and will they be right?

I must wait to learn
to learn how and why
but as for right now
i wait while i cry

i will see them again
sitting in the sun
i will see them again
when my time here is done

arms opened wide
with a smile and a sigh
to give them a kiss
a hello, not goodbye.

*This is my favorite, written about my grandparents...please comment*

I really like this poem especially the end where it says a kiss hello and not a goodbye! I just lost my friend who was 88 yrs old, and i know i will see him again when my time on this earth is also finished. Keep up the good writing.
