My Lonely Corner

by Erica Brown©   Jan 9, 2005

In my lonely corner I sit,
Thinking of my past.
How in your life I seemed to fit,
How I used to think it would last.

But I was wrong,
All those promises were lies.
You never cared all along,
Which led to silent goodbyes.

I really wish I was your special someone,
I want to be there in your arms,
I wish I knew what I had done.
Maybe I didn't match all your perfect charms.

Now in my lonely corner I sit,
Thinking of death.
I'm not just having a fit,
For tonight I will give my last breath.
