Same old song

by Johnny Mac   Jan 11, 2005

Every new day casts its shadow
Every shadow casts its new day
Where things won’t get better
Where things just won’t change

It’s the same old Song
The same old scene
My life’s not a broken record
It’s simply in repeat

I left her alone, cut her so deep
We once had our song
But she gave it for me to keep
I was an unlit match
And she was my flame
We loved each other madly
And madly we became
Overflowing wishing wells
Wishing it were the same
Our little runoff of wishes
Left no room to place the blame

I think tonight will be different
Maybe I am wrong
We'll go anywhere you dream
But we won't be asleep for long
