Not over yet

These wings I’ve grown have set me free
My vision they expand
It’s like I’m up above the sea
Soaring above the land

Maybe I have always had them
But the shackles have held me down
For me they cannot condemn
The weights are lifted with my frown

I am free now to be me now
If only for a short time
In respect for my friends I bow
For dealing with this grime

The muck of school is not over yet
But freedom we do feel
Because of the mid-term ex-am threat
We get a chance to break and heal

The days which are soon to follow
Will be full of fun and laughs
Because this repression we cannot swallow
As we resist the charts and graphs
