Anthem Of My Dying Day

by Driver   Jan 13, 2005

If I could show you my thoughts of when I hear your name.
You wouldn’t see happiness, just an endless trail of pain.
My love for you shall never end, for I don’t know how to shut you out.
Just knowing that there’s nothing I can do, makes me want to shout.

My wings of sorrow carry me back to the memories I shared with you.
I try my hardest to be happy, but my world seems to turn blue.
You used to brighten my day, like a shinning bright start.
Each night I contemplate suicide, but then I close my eyes and there you are.

But your smile is gone, replaced by the loneliness and the tears.
So now I’m stuck to emptiness, for the rest of my years.
I keep your memories so very close to my heart.
Even though the more I think about you, just tears me apart.

I just wanted to tell you one last time before you go away.
That no matter what happens, my love for you will stay.
And as I sit around, the song of my life I will play.
I’ll sit by the radio, listening to the anthem of my dying day.
