My heart beats out of rhythm (when you are away)

by Timothy   Jan 14, 2005

1st Verse:
Holding you in my arms, it feels so right,
It's as natural as the moon and stars, in an epic of nights;
Holding hands, and a sweet, lover's kiss,
What could be more appeasing than this?

Making love to you, it's a melody of perfect pitch,
The music plays an exalted harmony, to which our souls enrich;
I find deliverance in the beauty of that affectionate sound,
Because inside us a masterpiece of devotion is sure to be found.

Chorus:
But I can't hold you...not nearly as long as I want to,
Eternity is what I want to do;
But the beat of time, it pushes through,
And cruelly it separates me and you....
The musical accompaniment refuses to play,
And years seem to go by in one deaf-still day;
The song has been ripped from its tuneful array,
Because my heart beats out of rhythm (when you are away).

2nd Verse:
Time does move forward, until we are together again,
But the duration we have is stretched so very thin;
I must learn to economize, and store up every kiss,
Strengthen the choir, when it's your touch I miss.

Together we must try to twirl, as the orchestra reaches it's apex,
Breathe in with our mere moments, and dance unworried into the next!
Watch the Maestro, making the most of his time, his baton in a frenzy!
Forget out meager span, create FOREVER from it...and Sweetheart...just love me!

Repeat Chorus:
I can't hold you, not nearly as long as I want to,
Eternity is what I want to do;
But the beat of time, it pushes through,
And cruelly it separates me and you....
The musical accompaniment refuses to play,
And years seem to go by in one deaf-still day;
The song has been ripped from the tuneful array,
Because my heart beats out of rhythm (when you are away)!
