I'll still believe in you

by Joanne   Jan 20, 2005

I can see a light, coming from above
and now I know its time to die to save the one I love
in this world, in my heart
They’ll pull my dignity apart
They’ll beat me and they’ll torture me
They’ll cover the floor with my blood
They’ll chain me up and whip me
But I’ll still believe in my God

My soul I give to you, Let my spirit leave me
And my honesty stay true, For I shall never deceive thee
My rock, my Shadow, my Lord and my God
I’ll still believe in you

They can try and pull me down
I’ll carry the cross and wear a thorn crown
But they’ll never destroy my faith in him
Because without the great light, the world is dim
I am ready for the punishment I deserve
My spirit will ascend into heaven
To worship and to serve

My soul I give to you, Let my spirit leave me
No matter what they do, I shall never betray thee
My rock, my Shadow, my Father and my God
I’ll still believe in you

We were trying to be strong
We were crying for our loss
We were watching him dying
For us on the cross
We have come so far
Since he made right of our wrong
We have shed all our tears
And still have been strong

He took away our sins in pain, tore down walls, broke all chains
Sacrificed his self for us, lost his life and gained more trust
Together we can do. Anything, We are ready for. Everything
And We’ll still believe in him

We’re taking over the world
We’re waking the dead
We’re forsaking no other
Just like Jesus once said
And If I have my faith
And my trust in him
We’re free of the anger,
Judgement and sin
