Eternity in Vain

I see your face again
That mesmerizing beauty
That calls deep within my soul
My inhibitions border on mutiny

Your kiss is what I desire
Your trust, friendship, and love
Your body, your soul, your mind
Along with those, all of the above

If ever pain marked your face
I would take it from you
And set it upon myself
Know that this is the truth

If I could just talk to you
Or ask you what's your name?'
It would last me an eternity
And bypass all the glory and fame

My inhibitions, however, limit me
To desire and to wishing
Is it infatuation I'm feeling?
Or is it love for which I'm fishing?

In the deep sea of relationships
Which can either brighten or dim
The boyfriend that I hear you have
Do you really love him?

Can he care for you like me?
Can he show you how to be free?
To escape the fakeness of reality
To open your eyes so you can see?

I guess we'll never know
Because we'll never speak again
My lips mouth unheard words
From the beginning to the end

So desire shall confine my mind
And action will be feigned
I wish it weren't this way
My heart shall be maimed

For eternity upon eternity
Until the moon fades away
To just tell you " I love you. "
..I think that's all I want to say.

I hope your future is bright
And you find your true love
In all your everlasting beauty
Striking in comparison to a dove..

Aphrodite has unheard my call
For the companionship I wish for
I'll see you tomorrow in class...
As the bird over skies soars.
