I wish a lot

by Incognito   Jan 22, 2005

I wish I knew my weaknesses.
I wish that I could fly
I wish he'd told me earlier
That I wasn't going to die.
I wish all the stars up above
Were there to light my way.
I wish my heart were made of steel
Instead of earthen clay.
Sometimes I wish for happiness
But the wish sinks like titanic
Sometimes in between being sad
I wish that I were manic.
I wish that I were alone at last
In the place that is remotest.
I wish it were crowded enough
That I could watch unnoticed.
I wish that I knew everything
Though knowledge gets me down
I hope to god I never marry
Though I’ve planned my wedding gown.
I wish my parents were someone else
Then I wouldn’t have to be me.
I wish I had no connections
Then I could truly break free.
I wish life wasn’t so nasty.
Or so very very long.
I wish I could have a lot of fun
Without doing so much wrong.

Good poem...not exactly sure what the theme is...you seem to have just a jumble of thoughts put together. Just my 2 cents.
