I once knew what it was like, to see the light of day
to ask for directions, if i ever lost my way
I once knew the answer, to every question asked
I could tell you what was what, I could tell you about the past
I once knew the sun, its brightness and its form
but now I'm blind, I've lost my sight, I'm shaken and I'm torn
dying was my answer, to this problem i now faced
I planned it out, and timed it right, but death was not my case
I learned this late one night, while lying in my bed
Crying myself to sleep, wishing I was dead
Before i drifted off, i heard a whisper in my ear
He told me don't let go, he told me he was there
that reassuring voice, that whispered late that night
made me change my mind, it made me want to fight
I still cant see the path ahead, or whats in front of me
but now i know that God is here, to guide and help me see
