The Sweetest Song

by Sarah   Jan 25, 2005

§ Dedicated To Everlasting Love §

You put your hand on my waist
Pull me close, no reason for haste
The hills glow, northern lights fill the sky
As we dance, crystal flakes fall by our side
Under the winter moon we come together
All alone, just the two of us, with each other
In the privacy of the snow blanketed forest
You kiss my lips, and I am lost
In a springtime meadow
Hearing a song that the wind blows
I run and search, to find the source
Where this musical tale was born
My eyes open to you still hugging
I hear your heart thumping
Caressing my long hair, you whisper in my ear
A melody only the lovers hear
It rings through my head
It comes to fill my heart
I close my eyes again, laying in your arms
We stand in the cold wind, but in that dream
I am dancing through those fields once more
With flowers in my hair
Not a cloud fills the sky
Not a tear is in my eye
For there is no sweeter song
Than the one you sing...

Beautiful poem. Wonderful choice of words make it not just another love poem, and in fact grant it a subtle sensuality.
